
After taking several pictures of a hard-disk-casing grill (see the Blue-red macro (part 1) story first), I wanted to improve on the drama of the photos—to create something more 3D, more engaging.
I decided to stick with the same props (hard-disk-casing and a mouse)…


…and to add something else, between the blue and red lights. The idea was that the blue-lit grill of the hard-disk-casing grill would serve as a background and a mouse's red light will be used as a source of light for the object of my choosing. The search for the object of my choosing was not long—I decided upon a webcamera. Luckily for me, it has its own blue light, which will improve the picture even further.

After setting a photocamera (with a 105 mm macro lens on it) up, alligning everything, focusing—I switched the room lights off and according to the plan…
